Garabandal: the WARNING

It was a Sunday, 1961-June-18, and four young girls, ages 11 and 12, decided to have a bit of fun by pinching some apples from the school headmistress’s gardens. It was about 8.30pm but still daylight, in the little mountain village of San Sebastian de Garabandal, known simply as Garabandal.
The girls jumped the low wall, and helped themselves to the apples, then took off down a sunken lane, where they stopped to enjoy their treats. Suddenly Conchita froze on the spot, and her companions thought she was having some sort of a seizure. “Look over there!”, she cried. They all looked and were astonished to see a bright light which did not dazzle their eyes. In the light they saw an angel. He appeared to be a very strong boy about 9 years of age, and he was wearing a long seamless blue robe, and had large pink wings. And so that was the start of almost daily Apparition that went on until 1965-November.
In 1962-June-21, at the time of the feast of Corpus Christi, the girls were shown visions of the future Warning and Chastisement. They screamed fearfully during that “Nights of the Screams.” After the Warning, they were also shown the Miracle – it is to leave a permanent sign on the hill in the “nine pine trees” of the Apparition.
The words of Conchita about the WARNING:-
“The Blessed Virgin told me (during a two-hour apparition at the pines, 1965-January-1) that a warning would be given before the miracle. The warning is a thing that comes directly from God. No one can escape it. It will be visible all over the world. We will feel it bodily and interiorly. The warning is like a chastisement, a terrifying thing for the good as well as for the wicked. It will be like a revelation of our sins. We shall see the consequences of the sins we have committed. God will send the warning to purify us so that we may better appreciate the miracle by which He clearly proves His love for us and hence His desire that we fulfill the message. The warning will draw the good closer to God and it will warn the wicked that the end of time is coming.”

God will help us to sense that interior pain because often when we do something wrong we just ask with our “lips” for the Lord to forgive us, but now He will help us to physically feel that deep sorrow.”
